Skin
Care 101
SKIN
FUNCTIONS
1. Regulates temperature - "Runner's World" magazine, etc. often say -
don't use body lotions before running in heat because mineral oil in
those lotions creates a barrier that won't let heat escape and shuts
down the body's ability to regulate temperature.
2. Protective - it keeps everything in place
3. First Line of immune defense - your skin is slightly acidic for
protections from bacteria an germs. this is where pH comes from If the
pH is not correct (not just "balanced") the skin cannot be its
healthiest
4. Elimination - if your liver can't detoxify your blood, your skin will
handle it for you.
5. Sense of Touch
Arbonne means "Good Things From the Earth"!
Would you moisturize with a petroleum product or a
powerful solvent? Cleanse your skin with acetone? Enjoy the sweet smell
of methyl-octyne-carbonate? Accentuate your lips with a layer of animal
fat or apply tar to your eyelashes?
That's just what you do with 98% of skin care products on the market in
the United States today. The primary reason these ingredients are used
in skin care is cost - they are INEXPENSIVE and they help keep down the
cost of the products. In fact, many chemical ingredients used in
commercial cosmetic products are on the FDA's list of suspected
carcinogens.

The skin is living, dynamic and unpredictable, as well as the largest
functioning organ of the body. Skin protects by preventing bacteria,
germs and pollutants from entering the blood stream. Everything we put
on our skin is absorbed and goes through every vital organ. Our skin
breathes out waste and toxins, and takes in oxygen, moisture and
nutrients. Ingredients used in most American skin care formulations
contain potentially harmful ingredients, or at the very least
ingredients that can cause allergic reactions. How can this happen? The
FDA does not regulate what can be put into skin care products. All the
cosmetic companies have to do is list the ingredient and they can use
it. Arbonne International products are for the disciminative
label-reading consumer.
There is GOOD NEWS.....Arbonne does not use many of the common
ingredients found in most skin care products on the market today such as
mineral oil, lanolin, collagen, SD-40 alcohol, artificial colors and
fragrances, and our products contain less than 1% chemical
preservatives. Arbonne's skin care and cosmetics are formulated with
stringent standards and are botanically-based using key ingredients such
as astragalus, carrot root extract, chapparal, ginkgo biloba, wheat germ
oil, vitamins A & E and more. We don't test on animals and we do not use
animal by-products in any of our formulations. Our products are
formulated with botanical ingredients designed to nourish your skin and
restore its natural glow.
