1. Regulates temperature - "Runner's World" magazine, etc. often say - don't use body lotions before running in heat because mineral oil in those lotions creates a barrier that won't let heat escape and shuts down the body's ability to regulate temperature.

3. First Line of immune defense - your skin is slightly acidic for protections from bacteria an germs. this is where pH comes from If the pH is not correct (not just "balanced") the skin cannot be its healthiest
4. Elimination - if your liver can't detoxify your blood, your skin will handle it for you.
